Caroling for the Grandmas and Grandpas

This morning Booker's Joy School class went caroling at our local Senior Center. I'm so glad my kids didn't inherit my fear of being in front of a crowd. I guess I have Clark's genes to thank for that. Booker's been pretty excited about "singing for the Grandmas and Grandpas." Last night, we were trying to teach a Temple Prep class downstairs while Booker was upstairs in bed belting out Jingle Bells as loud as humanly possible for a good 15 minutes. It was hilarious... and very distracting to the two young men sitting in our living room.

Ward Christmas Party

Booker asked Santa for a Nerf gun. Ike freaked out until he got a sucker. Good times.

Air-Ra-Zone-Na Boys...

They're super wussy. At least when it comes to cold weather. To be fair, the car thermometer did say it was 23 degrees out. But that's no excuse to go ballistic for 15 minutes. It's like we were forcing them to sit on ice blocks instead of car seats. Ridiculous. Good thing we don't live somewhere that's actually cold.

It's a Hard Knock Life

Dear Sixteen Year Old Booker,

Remember that time you threw a massive tantrum because your little brother wouldn't let you use the pooper scooper to pick up dog poop? Oh, you don't remember? Well, here's a little reminder. Love you,

Mom

P.S. Maybe by the time you're actually sixteen, I'll know how to properly use the camcorder on my phone. Until then...

Monster Robot PJs

I don't think a goofier pair of little boys exists. And this is what happens when I ask them to act normal.

I made these pajamas for the boys and I'm darn proud of myself. I don't sew. At all. But I have awesome friends who don't mind sharing their sewing machines and their amazing talents. Thank you, Cherise! I love how they turned out.

Joy School

In addition to Preschool, Booker is going to Joy School twice a week. He's loving all his new friends and all the new things he's learning. Mom is loving that it's right here in the neighborhood!

Booker Turns Four!

Booker had his 4th birthday yesterday and we decided to celebrate with family this year. We invited his cousins from Mesa to come over for a pool party. Booker was eagerly anticipating his party the entire week before- "How many more days until my cousins come to my house?" He had such a blast. Thanks to everyone who came!
Mama Ginger (Booker's great grandma) helping Ike with cake and ice cream.

We've never had so many people in our pool at once- it was awesome! Here the older cousins are making a whirlpool.

We let him open presents on Sunday even though it was the day before his birthday, that way Clark could be around to play many a round of Dora Candyland with us. A friend of mine suggested that he might like the Legos Star Wars Wii game. Holy cow, he's obsessed. He'll do just about any chore I require of him to play more Legos Star Wars. He also loves his new Storm Trooper costume. He's been sleeping in it at night. Two nights ago, Booker came wandering into our room at 4 o'clock in the morning fully decked out in his costume. He whispers, "Know what, dad? Storm troopers can see in the dark." It's true they can, but unfortunately the ability to see in the dark doesn't help when you need to go pee. Thankfully he went back to bed.

Happy birthday, Booker! We love you so much.

Monsoon Boys

We lurve the monsoon season around here. Sure it makes everything hot and sticky but it's just so darn exciting. One minute the sky is perfectly clear and the next minute, it's raining cats and dogs.

Reminded me of this old video.

Lowe's Build and Grow

Every other Saturday at 10 am, Lowe's has a clinic where kids can build little projects. The best part? It's totally free. They even give you a Lowe's apron and safetly goggles to keep. When you complete your project you get a certificate and a patch for your apron. A few weeks ago, the boys made monster trucks. Last Saturday, they made U.F.O.'s complete with blinking lights on top.
