My Second Birthday

Well, my second birthday went much better than my first one.  I woke up to find that my parents had decorated the house with balloons and I absolutely LOVE balloons, except when they pop and then I have to tell the balloons, No Pop... although they never listen.

Then my dad got started on my cake. My mom had to have photographic proof of this rather unusual event. He says cooking is just like being back in the chemistry lab. Well, he must not miss the lab too much...

The end result- a FABULOUS (and extremely tasty) tres leches cake with strawberries and crushed symphony bar on top. Dad made it, mom decorated it with Dora, Boots and Swiper the Fox.  A cake that both adults and kids can enjoy!

Then we went over to my Dad's coworker/friend's (we're hoping they'll be both!) house for a delicious dinner. Rob and Emily have five kids (including one my age) and they're expecting a little boy right around the time my baby brother arrives. Anyways, I made them pose in my birthday pictures so I look a little less like the friendless, only child that I am. Thanks guys!

The candle was a little tricky. I required some assistance.

In addition to dinner and a really fun evening, the Matsons gave me a birthday present- a Diego car that transforms (naturally, its Diego). It's now my newest obsession and you can find me curled up in bed next to my cool new Diego toy. Thank you Rob & Emily!
